EVT12S Matte Black Truss Spacer Plate
1/2 Inch Matte Black Aluminum Truss Spacer Plate.
Adds a 0.5 Inch Increment Between Compatible EVT12S End Plates.
The EVT12S-1/2IN Black is a 1/2 inch matte black aluminum truss spacer plate for EVT12S and 12-Inch End-Plated Truss Systems. It adds a documented 0.5 inch / 12.7 mm increment between properly aligned compatible end plates when standard truss section lengths do not achieve the required dimension. The spacer plate changes the overall length of a connected truss run and adds a bolted connection. It does not increase truss capacity.
Product Facts
Product Overview
A 1/2 Inch Matte Black Truss Spacer Plate for Compatible End-Plate Connections.
The EVT12S-1/2IN Black is a 12 x 12 inch aluminum truss spacer plate with a matte black powder-coat finish. It adds a documented 1/2 inch / 12.7 mm increment to a compatible plated truss run. Use it where a truss run requires a small added length between compatible end plates and a matte black finish is required for the completed assembly.
Matte Black Finish
A Matte Black Powder-Coat Finish for Black Truss Assemblies.
The product-specific difference from the brushed-aluminum spacer plate is the matte black powder-coat finish. The listed size, plate thickness, material, weight, connection type, included hardware, certification, and stated compatibility context remain the same. Inspect the finish before use, particularly at bolt holes, plate edges, and surfaces that contact other components.
Truss Spacer Plate Uses
Add a 1/2 Inch Increment to Compatible End-Plate Truss Runs.
Use this truss spacer plate when a truss assembly requires a documented 1/2 inch adjustment that a standard section does not provide. Confirm the full truss assembly, support conditions, connection count, hardware, finish requirements, and intended use before putting any structure into service.
Included Hardware
Supplied with Hardware for One Four-Point Connection.
Four Grade 8 bolts, four nuts, and four washers are included with the spacer plate. Confirm the quantity, bolt length, hardware specification, engagement, and tightening requirements for the complete truss assembly before use. Additional hardware may be required where the structure includes multiple connections or multiple spacer plates.

Designed for EVT12S. Verify Other Brands Before Assembly.
The EVT12S-1/2IN Black truss spacer plate is designed for EVT12S and 12-Inch End-Plated Truss Systems. Exact fit with other brands is not guaranteed. Confirm end-plate dimensions, bolt-hole spacing, plate thickness, hardware, bolt engagement, required tightening specifications, and the complete truss assembly before combining components.
Assembly Overview
Align the Plates. Install and Check All Four Fasteners.
The spacer plate installs between compatible plated truss components using the applicable four-bolt end-plate connection method. Assembly should be completed by personnel qualified for the truss system and according to the applicable manufacturer requirements. This overview does not provide torque values or replace approved installation instructions.
Safety and Engineering
A Spacer Plate Adds Length. It Does Not Increase Truss Capacity.
Every spacer plate adds a bolted connection to the truss assembly. The allowable loading and suitability of the completed system depend on the truss model, span, support conditions, connection count, orientation, applied loads, suspension method, and project-specific review. Load-bearing, suspended, stacked-spacer, or other complex configurations require review by qualified structural or entertainment-rigging personnel.
Matte Black Truss Spacer Plate Questions
EVT12S-1/2IN Black Frequently Asked Questions.
How does the black 1/2 inch plate compare with the brushed 1/2 inch plate and the black 3/8 inch plate?
Against the brushed 1/2 inch plate, the only difference is the matte black powder-coat finish. Against the black 3/8 inch plate, this one adds 0.125 in / 3.18 mm more length and weighs 1.75 lb more (7.02 lb versus 5.27 lb). Choose by the gap you need to close, and choose black when the plate will be visible in a black build.
What lengths can I reach by pairing it with other black spacer plates?
One plate adds 0.5 in / 12.7 mm, two add 1 in / 25.4 mm, and one 1/2 inch plus one 3/8 inch plate adds 0.875 in / 22.2 mm. Each plate is a separate bolted joint, so every added plate has to be counted and reviewed as part of the complete assembly.
Will tightening the bolts mark the powder coat?
Clamping a joint can scuff coating where the plate meets the mating end plates and around the bolt-hole rims. Inspect those faces after the first assembly and again whenever a joint is taken apart and rebuilt. If the coating is worn through to bare aluminum, assess the damage before returning the plate to service, and contact us if you are unsure.
Do the bolts still reach with a 1/2 inch plate in the joint?
The plate adds 0.5 in to the joint thickness, so the bolts must span both end plates and the spacer and still give full nut engagement. Check bolt length before assembly. One supplied hardware set covers one four-point connection, so each additional stacked plate needs its own hardware check.
Does the black finish change the TUV certification or the load capacity?
The certification is listed as the same as the brushed plate, and the finish is a surface treatment over the same 6061-T6 aluminum. Neither the certification nor the finish rates your finished truss run. Its capacity depends on the truss model, span, supports, number of joints and loading, so have qualified structural or rigging personnel review load-bearing or suspended assemblies.
