EVT290S Truss Systems Knowledge Center
EVT290A-TMH Variable-Angle Truss Hinge.
For Adjustable 290 mm Truss Connections from 0 through 180 Degrees.
The EVT290A-TMH is a free-moving, non-lockable variable-angle hinge for compatible 290 mm square conical truss systems. It allows angular connections from 0 through 180 degrees for arches, closed polygon structures, and custom display frames. A closed structure, external bracing, guying, or another approved restraint method must maintain the final angle.
Product Facts
Product Overview
A Free-Moving Hinge for Adjustable Truss Angles.
The TMH replaces a rigid connection where a truss structure needs an adjustable angle. Its range supports flat, folded, and intermediate configurations, but it is not a locking corner. The final angle must be controlled by the completed structure or approved external restraint.
Application Uses
Create Controlled Angles in Closed or Properly Restrained Structures.
The TMH is intended for compatible structures where the completed assembly maintains the selected angle through its own form, bracing, guying, or another approved restraint.
Mechanism Limits
The Hinge Allows an Angle. It Does Not Hold the Angle by Itself.
The TMH is free-moving and non-lockable. It may find its final angle within a closed or properly braced structure, but the hinge alone cannot establish or retain that angle. Do not use it as a rigid corner, fixed angle block, or substitute for restraint.
Included Components
One Variable Hinge and Two Complete Coupler-Pin Sets.
Each unit includes 1 variable-angle hinge, 2 coupler-pins, and 2 r-clips. One set secures each truss-side connection.

Compatibility
System Compatibility
Compatibility Requires More Than a Nominal 290 mm Match.
Physical fit alone does not establish equivalent capacity, an approved angle, or a safe completed structure. Confirm receiver details, conical connector dimensions, pin alignment, r-clip fit, required restraint, and engineering data before combining systems.
Assembly
Connect Both Sides, Then Confirm How the Final Angle Is Restrained.
Safety and Engineering
A Free-Moving Hinge Cannot Hold an Angle Alone.
The TMH does not lock into a fixed position. Do not rely on the hinge alone to hold an angle. The completed structure must maintain its shape through connected sections, bracing, guying, or another approved restraint method.
Product Questions
EVT290A-TMH Questions.
Does the TMH lock at a selected angle?
No. It is free-moving and non-lockable. The completed structure or approved restraint must maintain the final angle.
What angle range does it allow?
The hinge allows movement from 0 through 180 degrees.
What hardware is included?
Each unit includes 1 hinge, 2 coupler-pins, and 2 r-clips.
Can it replace a rigid corner?
Not where a rigid fixed-angle connection is required. The TMH is non-lockable and needs completed-structure restraint.
