EVT50C-NSC — Medium-Duty 2-Inch Dual Narrow Rotating Clamp for 50mm Tubes and Truss
The EVT50C-NSC is a medium-duty dual narrow clamp designed to join two 48mm to 51mm (2-inch) OD tubes or truss sections together with a full 360-degree rotating joint between them. Two collars — one on each tube — connect through a narrow-profile swivel body that rotates freely through its full range, allowing the angle between the two tubes to be set at any position before tightening. At a profile width of 30mm, the narrow body reduces clearance requirements in tight rig configurations where a standard-width dual clamp would create interference. Rated at max load 200 kg, silver finish, and available with a downloadable 3D file for CAD integration.
Function and Compatibility:
The EVT50C-NSC uses two independent wing nut collars — each collar clamps to its own 48mm to 51mm OD tube or truss chord — with a swivel joint between them that rotates 360 degrees. Unlike the EHSC and BEHSC swivel clamps which include a locking pin for fixed 90-degree connections, the EVT50C-NSC does not lock at 90 degrees — the joint rotates freely and holds its position through the friction of the tightened collar assembly. Set the desired angle between the two tubes, tighten both collars, and the joint holds. For applications that require a mechanically locked fixed angle, a locking-pin swivel clamp is required instead. The narrow 30mm profile fits into rib configurations and tight truss geometries where wider dual clamps create clearance issues. Compatible with EVT290S, EVT290I, F34 series truss main chords, and standard Schedule 40 aluminum pipe in the 48mm to 51mm outer diameter range.
Key Features
- Dual Collar Configuration: Two independent collars clamp to two separate 50mm OD tubes — a structural tube-to-tube joining component for connecting two truss runs or structural members at a custom angle.
- 360-Degree Rotation, Friction Hold: The swivel joint rotates a full 360 degrees and holds its position through collar friction when tightened — does not include a locking pin for fixed 90-degree connections.
- Narrow 30mm Profile: Profile width of 30mm reduces clearance requirements between adjacent components in tight rib configurations and high-density truss assemblies.
- Max Load 200 kg: Medium-duty load rating for structural tube-to-tube connections in overhead rigging and truss assemblies.
- 48mm to 51mm Tube Fit: Both collars fit standard 48mm to 51mm (2-inch) OD tubing — compatible with F34 truss, EVT290S, EVT290I main chords, and Schedule 40 aluminum pipe.
- S45C Carbon Steel Hardware: High-strength S45C carbon steel fasteners for reliable long-term clamping performance.
- Wing Nut Closure on Both Collars: Tool-free tightening on each collar — open, seat, position, and lock without wrenches or hex keys.
- 3D File Available: STEP and DWG files available for download for CAD integration into structural drawings and rigging plans.
Assembly Instructions
- Release the wing nut by turning it counterclockwise to release the bolt and open the collar on the first tube position.
- Place the first collar of the EVT50C-NSC on the truss, tube, or pipe and close the collar.
- Put the bolt back in place with the washer and wing nut above the collar.
- Ensure the first collar is located in its proper place on the tube before tightening the wing nut.
- Turn the wing nut clockwise to tighten and secure the first collar. Repeat for the second collar on the second tube, setting the desired angle between the two tubes before final tightening.
Safety and Rigging Notice
Critical Rigging Guidelines:
- Load Rating: Do not exceed the max load rating of the EVT50C-NSC or the load capacity of the truss system it is installed on.
- No Locking Pin: This clamp does not lock at 90 degrees. The joint holds its set angle through collar friction only — for applications requiring a mechanically fixed angle under structural load, use a locking-pin swivel clamp.
- Structural Use: This is a tube-to-tube joining clamp. Do not use as a single-collar fixture mounting clamp.
- Inspection: The EVT50C-NSC should be fully inspected before every use. In the occurrence of any damage or defect, the clamp should not be used.
- Secondary Safety: The use of safety cables is recommended for maximum security on all overhead applications.
- Professional Review: The purchase of this product does not authorize or approve a specific installation or use. A licensed professional engineer shall review all structures, lighting plots, or other clamp uses.
